Fisher tops Breeding in photo finish at 191
CAMPTON, Ky. (Sept. 28) — Derek Fisher of Columbus, Ind., claimed a $4,000 payday Saturday night at 191 Speedway, topping Stephen Breeding of Hazard, Ky., to claim the track’s unsanctioned special event in a photo finish.
Fisher pulled away from Jamie Ferguson of West Liberty, Ky., early in the 50-lap race and later held off Breeding’s late charge to earn his 12th overall victory of the season. Brandon Fouts of Kite, Ky., was third with Steve Stollings of Hazard, Ky., fourth and Arnie Fields of Wallingford, Ky., fifth. Ferguson ended up ninth after getting caught in a pileup on the final lap.
Saturday’s race was the first of two late-season special events at the quarter-mile track. The season concludes Oct. 5.
