Finally, Satterlee captures Brawl in the Fall

HAGERSTOWN, Md. (Sept. 29) — The completion of Hagerstown Speedway’s Brawl in the Fall took nearly a year, but it was worth the wait for Gregg Satterlee of Rochester Mills, Pa.
Satterlee took the lead on the 16th of 50 laps Sunday afternoon and raced to a $10,000 victory in the Super Late Model portion of Hagerstown’s season-ending evening, first halted by Hurricane Sandy last fall and then postponed three more times by weather. | Slideshow
“We were looking to coming here today and try and get this win,” said Satterlee, who lapped all but eight competitors for his seventh overall victory of 2013. “The racetrack was pretty racy, even with hot-lap traffic. You could move high or low and I just had a really good car and finally got one. We’ve been close all year here. We worked hard this weekend and finally got it to victory lane.”
Jason Covert of York Haven, Pa., finished 1.718 seconds behind in second followed by ninth-starting Rusty Sites of St. Thomas, Pa., early leader Gary Stuhler of Greencastle, Pa., and Vic Coffey of Caledonia, N.Y.
Stuhler and Kenny Moreland were scheduled for the front row, but mechanical issues kept Moreland in the pits and Stuhler took control early with Kyle Hardy giving chase. Hardy made an inside pass on the 10th lap and started pulling away, but smoke billowed from Hardy’s car and his exit returned the lead to Stuhler on the 13th lap.
Satterlee began stalking Stuhler and took command on lap 16, pulling ahead by a four-second margin by the 20th lap as the eighth-starting Covert moved into the runner-up spot. Satterlee motored through lapped cars so easily that Covert never got close enough for a challenge in the 50-lap feature.

Two drivers didn’t return for the feature: Tim McCreadie and Steve Axtell Jr. ... Greg Roberson finished seventh driving Nick Dickson’s No. 17d.
