Notes: The event is the first of the season’s Dirt Late Model crown jewel events. … Four-time series champion Earl Pearson Jr. of Jacksonville, Fla., the winningest series driver with three victories, leads the points heading to Wheatland. … The Thursday night program returns for the third straight year with the Cowboy Classic, a Lucas Oil Midwest LateModel Racing Association event honoring late series co-owner Allen “Cowboy” Chancellor, who died last year. … The Midwest Sheet Metal Show-Me Challenge pays $2,000-to-win and $250-to-start for the 24-car field; the winner of the non-qualifiers’ race can pass on the $2,000 and elect to start on the tail for the 100-lapper. ... The event, which originated at West Plains (Mo.) Motor Speedway, has had 10 winners, six of them winning more than once. ... Two-time Lucas Oil champion Scott Bloomquist of Mooresburg, Tenn., has five victories, most recently in 2008 when the event was still at West Plains. ...
