Among fund-raisers, benefits and funds planned for the family of Charlie Floyd, the Wheelersburg, Ohio, driver who died April 19 after a racing accident at Southern Ohio Speedway (obituary; blog; tribute):
Charles Floyd Memorial Fund: An account for the family has been set up at WesBanco banks. Visit a bank branch (in Wheelersburg, Portsmouth, West Portsmouth, Ironton, Jackson, Oak Hill and other Ohio locales) to make a donation. Charity Bike Ride: A June 25 motorcycle ride will raise money for the family. The ride starts at 10:30 a.m. at Laidback Bar and Grill in Hanging Rock, Ohio, and concludes at 5:30 p.m. T-shirts and stickers will be sold. For more information, visit this link.

Charlie Floyd Memorial Benefit: Southern Ohio Speedway in Wheelersburg has scheduled the benefit race for April 29, a night of racing highlighted by the first-year AMRA STARS Late Model Alliance. Charlie Floyd 99F decals: Decals from Slicker Graphics will be available for $5 starting this weekend at Moler Raceway Park, Atomic Speedway and Florence Speedway. All proceeds go to the Floyd family.
Benefit for Charlie Floyd: Portsmouth (Ohio) Raceway Park has planned a benefit race for the May 14 season opener. T-shirts, bracelets, yard signs and window decals will be for sale, along with a raffle and plans for drivers to pass helmets through the stands. Raffle for race car wrap: Slicker Graphics of Cincinnati, Ohio is selling $25 raffle tickets (or five for $100) for a free race car wrap. The winning ticket will be award at October’s Dirt Track World Championship at Portsmouth (Ohio) Raceway Park. Tickets are being organized along with online purchases.
