Rattliff outruns Lee, wins $3,000 at Brownstown

BROWNSTOWN, Ind. (June 28) — Justin Rattliff of Campbellsville, Ky., wrestled the lead from series points leader Victor Lee midway through the 10th annual Lee Fleetwood Memorial at Brownstown Speedway and went on to a $3,000 victory on the O'Reilly Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series. The victory gave Rattliff his third career series victory and second of the season, both of them coming across the Ohio River from the series home. | Slideshow
Lee, a three-time series winner from Stanford, Ky., and reigning series champion, finished second followed by former track champion Steve Barnett of Franklin, Ind., Greg Johnson of Bedford, Ind., and first-lap leader Tim Tungate of Campbellsville, Ky. Barnett took the lead from Tungate on the second lap and led four circuits before Lee took command. Rattliff, who got into the top five after six laps, used the high groove and swept into the lead on the 16th lap to take command in a race plagued by eight cautions.

Larry Gray earned the PPM Racing Products Hard Charge honors with his 17th-to-10th run. ... Four cautions on lap 22 forced the series to dump double-file restarts. ... The series runs a pair of Fourth of July weekend series events in eastern Kentucky on July 4 at Mountain Motor Speedway in Isom ($3,000-to-win) and July 5 at 201 Speedway in Sitka ($5,000-to-win).
