Hanestad earns $3,000 for Dart victory at Deer Creek

SPRING VALLEY, Minn. (July 5) — Rick Hanestad of Boyceville, Wis., overtook race-long leader Pete Parker of Kaukauna, Wis., just past the halfway point and went on to a $3,000 Dart Challenge Series victory at Deer Creek Speedway. Pat Doar of New Richmond, Wis. rallied from 14th to finish second and pick up an extra $300 has the race's hard charger. Front-row starter Lance Matthees of Winona, Minn., finished third followed by the polesitting Parker and Corey Mahder of Elk Mound, Wis. The 40-lapper was slowed by a single caution. Deer Creek hosts the World of Outlaws Late Model Series on July 9 for the $10,000-to-win Gopher 50.
