Peoples won the eight-car event, open to the past 15 winners of Talladaga's season-opening event.
Starting on the pole, Peoples launched into the lead for an early advantage over fellow front-row starter Mike Head of Ellenwood, Ga. Frank Ingram of Acworth, Ga., quickly grabbed the second spot but Peoples stayed in control all the way.
Randall Walker of Oxford, Ala., last year's Ice Bowl winner, started outside the second row but faded to a seventh-place finish.
Super Late Model prelims are scheduled for noon Saturday with time trials and heat races. Sunday's car includes consolation races and the 50-lap feature, which pays $6,000 to the winner.
