From series reports

MADISON, N.C. (Oct. 27) — Eighth-starting Scott Autry of Fayetteville, N.C., overtook Jeff Smith of Dallas, N.C., exiting turn four on the final lap of Saturday’s Carolina Clash Super Late Model Series finale at 311 Motor Speedway to earn $4,000 for his first series victory of the season.

The polesitting Smith settled for second in the 40-lap race ahead of two-time series champion Dennis Franklin of Gaffney, S.C., Johnny Pursley of Clover, S.C., and Jay Sessoms of Stanley, N.C.

With his 13th-place finish, Luke Roffers of Concord, N.C., wrapped up his first-ever series championship, topping Smith by 10 points in the final standings.

Notes: Autry’s Wolf-Pack Racing-produced Rocket Chassis is powered by a Randy Clary Racing Engine with sponsorship from L&M Convenient Mart, Snowhill Turf Farms, Floyd Brother’s Construction and Masters Security Systems. … Autry, the 2002 series champion, scored the sixth series victory of his career and first since Aug. 6, 2011. … Michael Marlowe’s 22nd-place finish was enough to give him the tour’s Rookie of the Year honors by seven points over Wayne Hughes, who finished 20th.
