Lloyd grabs $3,000 UDLMCS victory at Golden Isles

BRUNSWICK, Ga. (June 29) — Ivedent Lloyd Jr. of Ocala, Fla., earned $3,000 for his United Dirt Late Model Challenge Series victory at Golden Isles that lasted until the wee hours. Ninth-starting Jason Fitzgerald finished second followed by fellow Jacksonville, Fla., driver Johnny Collins, who started 10th. Another Jacksonville driver, early leader Michael Lloyd (no relation to the winner), finish fourth ahead of Adam Bedenbaugh.
Notes: A late afternoon thunderstorm postponed racing until 9 p.m., and racing continuing until nearly 4 a.m. ... Last-chance Steve Whitener flipped his car in turn two in the main event, but he was able to walk away. ... A broken balljoint knocked heat winner Tyler Ivey out of the race.
