World 100 rookies to chase bonuses
First-time World 100 entrants will battle for extra cash with the Shane Unger Memorial Rookies of the Race awards program during the Sept. 7-9 weekend at Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio.
One first-time driver could earn as much as $4,000 from $5,000 in posted awards in a program presented by the Unger family, Fullenkamp’s Frenchtown Trailers, Wide Open Graphics and DirtonDirt.com.
The top three performing rookies from each of Thursday and Friday’s preliminary programs will receive $500, $300 and $200, with the rookie accumulating the most combined points from the two preliminary nights receiving $1,000. Additionally, the best performing rookie driver in Saturday’s World 100 program will receive $2,000.
The award at the sport's most prestigious event pays tribute to late Ohio driver Shane Unger, who died after an accident during last year’s World 100 preliminaries.
Eldora posted the 47th annual World 100 entry form Thursday; teams can save $143 by entering the event with all the necessary paperwork by Sept. 1. Find entry forms and more information on the $50,000-to-win event at eldoraspeedway.com.
