Paul Tribble, the owner of Old No. 1 Speedway returned home Sunday morning to recover after being struck by a race car during Saturday's racing program at the Harrisburg, Ark., dirt track.

The rest of the racing program was cancelled after the accident that left Tribble with a broken shoulder, facial fractures and a serious cut on his leg, according to the track through information from his daughter. It wasn't clear what medical care he received but there were on-site reports that Tribble was airlifted to a hospital.

Thanking those in the racing communities for prayers and concern, Cyndill West posted on Facebook that by Sunday morning he was alert, able to walk gingerly and "is in very good spirits and is just thankful to still be with us.

"There is no way I can remember who all you were, but you know who you are, (thanks) to everyone that stepped up last night at the track to help us like you did, or even if you just asked if there was anything that you could do, you don’t know how much I appreciate y’all!"

The 57-year-old Tribble has operated the racetrack, which last month hosted a Comp Cams Super Dirt Series event, since purchasing it in February 2017. The track hosts occasional Limited Late Model events and is scheduled to host July 15 and Sept. 16 Titan Legends Series races. The track's next scheduled event is May 28 with the United Sprint Car Series headlining the program.
