Darrell Nelson enjoys victory lane after his victory in the NASCAR Late Model portion of the Legendary 100.
What won the race: Darrell Nelson of Hermantown, Minn., led all 40 laps of the NASCAR Late Model portion of Cedar Lake Speedway's Legendary 100, earning $5,000 for his victory over Canadian Ricky Weiss and fellow Wisconsin driver Chad Mahder.
Key notes: Eighteen drivers finished the 40-lap feature. ... Second-running Jimmy Mars retired after 13 laps. ... Adam Hensel was running fourth when his night ended on lap 17. ... Mahder earned $9,200 in the John Seitz Memorial one week earlier at River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks, N.D. ... The Legendary 100 weekend — Cedar Lake's final Late Model event of the season — was scheduled to begin on Friday night with time trials and heat races, but rain forced officials to push the qualifying program to Saturday afternoon.
