Bill Leighton Jr.'s supporters enjoy victory lane at U.S. 30 Speedway.
What won the race: Second-starting Bill Leighton Jr. of Omaha, Neb., topped fellow front-row starter Brian Kosiski of Papillion, Neb., for his third victory of the season on the Nebraska-based Super Late Model Racing Series. Leighton earned $1,200.
Key notes: Leighton has 10 career series victories; his previous 2016 triumphs came May 21 at Off Road Speedway and June 18 at Junction Motor Speedway. ... SLMRS competitors made their first of two visits to U.S 30 Raceway; the tour returns on Aug. 28. ...
