David Seibers (18) and Tanner English (96) battled for the lead late in the Duck River feature.
What won the race: When apparent winner David Seibers of Chapel Hill, Tenn., weighed in 15 pounds light, series points leader Tanner English of Benton, Ky., inherited Saturday's MARS DIRTcar Series East victory at Duck River Raceway Park. English collected $3,000 for his series-leading fifth victory this season.
Key notes: Early leader Riley Hickman debuted a new Capital Race Car. ... After battling with polesitter Jay Scott and Tanner English for the lead, Hickman suffered a flat tire in the middle stages of an attrition-filled feature. ... On the ensuing restart following Hickman's flat, Mark Gant spun and Hickman struck his machine head-on, ending their races. ... Rallying to the front from 19th, consolation race winner David Seibers battled with Tanner English for the lead in the closing laps, ultimately crossing the finish line first. ... After his apparent victory, Seibers weighed in at 2,335 pounds, 15 pounds shy of the 2,350-pound requirement. ... His car was weighed twice. ... English and three other drivers met weight. ... Caleb Ashby drove his brother Steven's No. 16. ... Just nine drivers were running at the feature's finish. ... Seibers, a Duck River regular, was going for his fourth straight victory at the track. ... MARS East competitors return to Duck River on Sept. 3.
On the move: Caleb Ashby of Cunnigham, Tenn., advanced 18 positions after starting 23rd.
Winner's sponsors: English’s Rocket Chassis is powered by a Jay Dickens Racing Engine and sponsored by Seay Motors and M&S Concrete.
