Mike Palasini Jr. takes the checkers at Greenville Speedway.
What won the race: Recovering from a poor start, third-starting Mike Palasini Jr. of Leland, Miss., took the lead from Hunter Rasdon amid traffic on lap 16 of Saturday's Comp Cams Super Dirt Series feature at Greenville Speedway and led the rest of the 35-lapper to earn $3,000.
Quotable: “To start the race, you can tell we kind of got some body damage there. We fell from third to seventh but just started back picking ‘em off and came back to the lead running the bottom,” Palasini said. “Lapped traffic was everywhere. The track, I don’t know, it was a fun track. There were lanes everywhere … ruts, dry, wet, it was a cool track."
Key notes: Palasini earned his third career series victory. ... Palasini topped series points leader Brian Rickman of Columbus, Miss., who started on the pole and led the first lap before slipping back and eventually settling for the runner-up position. ... Hunter Rasdon of Jonesboro, Ark., led laps 2-15 before fading to finish 13th. ... Logan Martin ran second most of the race but fell from contention in the final five laps. ... Brayden Proctor ran as high as third before finishing sixth. ... Saturday's feature was slowed by six incidents and lasted about 30 minutes with 15 drivers completing 35 laps. ... Friday’s series event at Central Arkansas Motor Speedway was halted by flooding.
On the move: Dean Carpenter of Independence, Miss., started 15th and finished fifth.
Winner's sponsors: Palasini's Doug Showah-owned Pierce Race Car is powered by a Pro Power engine and sponsored by The Tint Man, M&D Aviation, Helena, Hanos Dirt Works and HP Graphics.
Points chase: Entering the event, Brian Rickman (1,900 points) led Logan Martin (1,860), B.J. Robinson (1,835), Kyle Beard (1,745) and Hunter Rasdon (1,665).
