Notes: After being held at the Kosiski family-owned I-80 Speedway for the first 12 years prior to the track’s closure, the 13th annual Silver Dollar Nationals has a new venue with its inaugural edition at Huset’s Speedway, a sprint-car stronghold that first hosted the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series last season with a Tim McCreadie victory. ... The Kosiskis have continued promotions of the event that has been Lucas Oil-sanctioned all but its first season. ... Lucas Oil action starts with a standalone $12,000-to-win program on Thursday followed by Friday's dual-heat race format awarding passing/finishing points to each driver, with the top-16 being locked-in to Saturday’s feature. Points also set the lineup for Saturday’s consolation, which precedes the 80-lap, $53,000-to-win finale. ... The purse is still among the season's richest, but Saturday's feature is $78,000 less than the last two years when the event paid a sport-best $5,300-to-start. ... The finale now pays $2,553-to-start from a $175,112 purse (down from $253,371 last season). ... Fresh off his fourth $15,000 victory in last weekend’s Diamond Nationals at Lucas Oil Speedway, Jonathan Davenport of Blairsville, Ga., is chasing his his fourth career Silver Dollar Nationals victory and second in a row. … The first of four days of action at Huset's begins with the Repairable Vehicles.com Tri-State Series taking center stage with a $4,000-to-win program and makeup feature for the $6,000-to-win Ben Nothdurft Memorial rained out Memorial Day weekend. ... The Joe Kosiski-promoted Malvern Bank Super Late Model Series is on the undercard Friday and Saturday with a pair of $5,053-to-win programs.
