Jack Starrette: 1931-2010
Jack Starrette of Belvedere, S.C., one of Dirt Late Model racing's most prolific car owners, died Aug. 20 from injuries suffered in a work accident two days earlier. He was 70. Starrette was remembered by drivers for his unending acts of generosity in supporting high-profile racers like Jeff Smith, Ricky Weeks, Randle Chupp and many more. — Alison Williams
