MARYVILLE, Tenn. (Aug. 30) — California driver Eric Jacobsen's lap-35 wreck at Mountain Raceway Park allowed hometown driver Tommy Kerr to regain the lead at Mountain Raceway Park and collect his fourth consecutive victory on the Advance Auto Parts Thunder Series. Kerr, who led the first 13 laps before Jacobsen took the lead, earned $3,000 for his 40-lap victory in the second annual Mountain Moonshine Classic. | Slideshow

The polesitting Kerr was happy to win in front of family and friends. "My mom never comes to the races, but she’s even here and waved at me over in tier parking," the Blount Motorsports driver said.

Jacobsen, the night's fast qualifier, had a straightaway lead with five laps remaining when tagged the frontstretch wall, causing damage in the right-front suspension that sent his No. 5 hard into the turn-one wall. He was slightly shaken up by the wreck but suffered no serious injuries. Kerr inherited the lead and went on to lead the final five laps chased by Rick Rogers of Knoxville, Tenn., and Randy Weaver of Crossville, Tenn.
