Conley takes Portsmouth, captures first BoB victory

PORTSMOUTH, Ohio (July 26) — Rod Conley of Wheelersburg, Ohio, took control from Jackie Boggs of Grayson, Ky., on the 12th lap at Portsmouth Raceway Park and led the rest of the Grover Race Engines 40 for his first career victory on the O'Reilly Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series. Conley, who made a key move through lapped traffic with three laps remaining to assure his victory, earned $3,000.

Boggs, who led the first 11 laps, settled for second followed by fast qualifier Eddie Carrier Jr. of Salt Rock, W.Va. Justin Rattliff of Campbellsville, Ky., and Josh McGuire of Grayson rounded out the top five in a race slowed by five caution periods.
