Trever Feathers (76) keeps Jason Covert (15) in check at Hagerstown.
What won the race: Trever Feathers of Winchester, Va., led all 30 laps Sunday at Hagerstown Speedway for a $5,091 Super Late Model victory in the Frank Sagi Tribute. The outside front-row starter took the checkers 0.640 of a second ahead of Jason Covert in the caution-free 30-lapper.
Quotable: "I honestly cannot believe this," Feathers said. "We really weren't very good. It fired off good and then we started building loose and I started searching, searching, (Covert) got close to me and I started searching, kind of got away, and then we got into the lap cars. The last five laps I was holding on for dear life."
Key notes: Front-row starter Trever Feathers piloted a Gerald Chamberlain No. 76 Everette Express throwback scheme from a 1973 vintage car. ... He also picked up a $3,000 hometown victory the previous night at Winchester Speedway. ... It marked the first time he's won twice on a single weekend. ... Jason Covert finished second, but Matt Cosner held the second spot from lap 24-26. ... Hagerstown honored distinguished track announcer, the late Frank Sagi, with a Sunday evening special. ... In four race starts for Feathers, he's won twice and finished second and third. ... National Sprint Car Hall of Fame driver Lance Dewease, 56, of Fayetteville, Pa., made for his Late Model debut in a commemorative No. 461 Brickmobile wrap to honor former car owner and race honoree, Walter Dyer, who helped start Dewease's prolific sprint career. Dewease finished 19th. … Larry Neiderer got the $1,000 Hard Luck award.
On the move: Tyler Hershey of Mercersburg, Pa., started 15th and finished 11th.
