What won the race: Ryan Unzicker of El Paso, Ill., overtook Brian Shirley with three laps remaining Thursday at Tri-City Speedway to grab a $3,000 Super Late Model victory. The third-starting Unzicker took the checkers in the 30-lapper a half-second ahead of pole-starting Jason Feger while Shirley settled for third after leading laps 9-27 in a Steve Lampley-owned entry.
Key notes: Unzicker notched his sixth Super Late Model victory of the season. ... Surprising entrant Earl Pearson Jr. started outside the front row and led the first eight laps; he finished fourth. ... Nine drivers completed 30 laps. ... DIRTcar Super Late Models are part of the three-day 18th annual Summit Race Equipment Modified Mania Dirt Nationals at Tri-City with $3,000-to-win races on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
