Jeremy Wonderling heads for a $4,000 victory at Tyler County.
What won the race: Jeremy Wonderling of Wellsville, N.Y., led all but one lap from the pole at Tyler County Speedway on Thursday, winning the $4,000 RUSH Crate Late Model Series' inaugural Cider Jug 40 feature. Wonderling's victory is his third straight with the RUSH tour, after sweeping last weekend's races at Genesee Speedway.
Quotable: "It was really the lapped cars that were going to be the death of me, but that's all part of racing," Wonderling said. "I feel bad for Joe (Martin). Joe obviously had a good car, he went scooting by me and obviously he was there, then I seen him clip the cars on the backstretch, so I seen his tire was flat and I tried to tell him so he could at least get it changed and get back out".
Key notes: Kyle Thomas of Pennsboro, W.Va., made an outside move out of turn four and led lap 28 before Wonderling took the lead for good on the lap 29 restart. Thomas settled for the runner-up position, 1.438 seconds back. ... Wonderling appeared to tangle with a lapped car on lap 36, but RUSH series officials determined the caution occurred before Wonderling approached the incident and he spun to avoid, so he retained the lead. ... RUSH series points leader Logan Roberson of Waynesboro, Va., took advantage of the lap 37 restart and finished third. ... Brady Wonderling of Wellsville, N.Y., faded on the final restart and finished fourth. ... Donnie Dotson and Ryan Frazee each advanced six positions to finish seventh and ninth, respectively. ... Joe Martin of Mayport, Pa., ran as high as second place before pitting with a flat right-rear tire on lap 17. Martin rebounded to run inside the top-10 before retiring on lap 37 and finishing 15th. ... Fourth-starting Braeden Dillinger spun from eighth position on lap 17 and was hit by another car, ending his night and relegating him to finish 21st. ... Thursday's feature, the RUSH Crate Late Model Series' inaugural visit to Tyler County Speedway and the undercard of the Hillbilly 100 weekend, was slowed by seven cautions and lasted 39 minutes, with 13 drivers completing all 40 laps. … The RUSH series visits Pittsburgh Pa. Motor Speedway Friday and Saturday for its annual Bill Hendren Memorial.
On the move: Breyton Santee of Conneaut, Ohio, started 19th and finished 10th.
Winner's sponsors: Wonderling’s Longhorn Chassis is sponsored by Shuttleworth Auto Sales, Terry Prince Contracting, Cummings Trucking and Close Racing Supply.
