What won the race: Powering around the outside of Devin Moran for the lead on lap 42 and then holding him off on a late-race restart, second-starting Nick Hoffman of Mooresville, N.C., captured Saturday's 50-lap World of Outlaws Case Late Model Series debut at Norman County Raceway. Hoffman beat Moran by 1.048 seconds to notch his series-leading fifth victory of the season and the sixth of his career.

Quotable: “(When they threw) that caution with one to go, it’s all ‘that sucks’ and you just gotta make sure you kinda use up enough race track that Devin (Moran) can’t get back by,” Hoffman said. “I felt like there at the beginning I was kinda pacing myself and obviously those guys kinda swarmed me and I got back (to) fifth or sixth, but I just kept my tires underneath me, I felt like at the end that was kinda what saved my ass.”

Key notes: The fourth-starting Moran led laps 28-41 before giving way to Hoffman and swapping second place with Brandon Sheppard. The Ohio driver reclaimed the runner-up spot on lap 47 and finished there. ... Sheppard maintained his WoO points lead with a third-place finish. ... Brian Shirley improved five spots to finish fourth. ... Kyle Bronson led laps 1-23 from the pole before slowing with a flat right-rear and drawing the race's second caution. He rebounded to finish eighth after changing the tire. ... Bobby Pierce led laps 24-26 before slowing with terminal engine trouble to cause the race's fourth stoppage. His powerplant reportedly threw a rod and he finished 22nd. ... Ryan Gustin inherited the point on the lap-27 restart but slowed at the start of lap 28 and pulled off with a failed driveline component. ... Cody Overton slowed from eighth with a flat left-rear to bring out the race's fifth and final yellow flag on lap 49, creating a green-white-checkered sprint to the end. Overton changed the flat and soldiered to an 11th-place result. ... The race lasted 29 minutes with 14 competitors completing the distance and 19 running at the finish.

On the move: Brent Larson of Lake Elmo, Minn., started 14th and finished seventh.
