What won the race: Shaun Mayea of Bend, Ore., came out on top of a mid-race battle for the lead with Brad Martin or Warren, Ore., to earn a $1,000 Northwest Extreme Crate Late Model Series victory.
Key notes: Jacob Myers of Salem, Ore., led the first lap. ... Jason Johnson of Gresham, Ore., took the point for laps 2-11 before surrendering it to Martin on the 12th circuit. ... Mayea initially took the lead from Martin on a lap-18 restart, but the move was negated by one of a handful of mid-race caution flags. ... Mayea took the lead for good on the 21st lap and after a brief side-by-side duel with Martin, pulled away down the stretch. ... Cottage Grove's event kicked off the tour's 2014 season. ... A few showers struck the track during the afternoon hours, but the event was able to be completed as scheduled. ... Mayea became the tour's 13th different winner.
