What won the race: Gib Gibbons of Manning, S.C., led flag-to-flag for a $3,000 victory in the inaugual Fast Unified Engine Late Model Series stop at Screven Motor Speedway. Gibbons beat series points leader Brett Hamm of Newberry, S.C., to the checkered flag.
Key notes: Gibbons became the tour's third different winner this season, joining Hamm and Ross Bailes. ... The series for CT 525-engine competitors has made allowances for drivers with GM's 604 Crate engine to join the action. ... The series also recently announced it will allowing grooving and siping of series-legal tires.
On the move: Wendell Chavous of Hephzibah, Ga., started 10th and finished fifth.
