Donald McIntosh visits victory lane June 12 at 411 Motor Speedway.
What won the race: Second-starting Donald McIntosh of Dawsonville, Ga., led all 40 laps, fending off Ultimate Super Late Model Series points leader Casey Roberts of Toccoa, Ga., for a $4,000 victory. Cory Hedgecock rounded out the podium.
Key notes: Roberts pulled alongside McIntosh on several occasions, but could not complete a pass. ... The feature lineup was set straight from qualifying. ... The 40-lapper took just under 30 minutes to complete with 12 drivers completing the full distance. ... Mark Vineyard spun on the 10th lap to bring out the first caution. ... David Crabtree slowed on lap 24. ... A lap-26 stoppage came for debris from Dennis Franklin's machine; a multi-car tangle followed on the ensuing restart. ... Jason Welshan's car caught fire on lap 31; he escaped from his machine without injury. ... Franklin retired while running in the top five with three laps remaining. ... Mini stock racer Mike Townsend died during the feature. His car went out of control and stopped on the backstretch; medical personnel performed CPR before he was taken to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
