Tyler Erb raced to his first Comp Cams Super Dirt Series victory.
What won the race: Overcoming rugged track conditions, fourth-starting Tyler Erb of Magnolia, Texas, overtook polesitter Robert Baker of Bryant, Ark., following a lap-15 restart and led the rest of the way Saturday at the new East Texas Speedway for his first career Comp Cams Super Dirt Series win. Erb earned $2,500 for the victory over Baker, Patrik Daniel and reigning series champ Kyle Beard.
Key notes: The series made its first appearance in Petty. ... Baker led the first 15 laps. ... The 30-lapper was slowed by four cautions. ... Clay Fisher was running third when a flat tire knocked him out of contention. ... Erb notched his third victory in his last six starts. He also won a regular-season event May 9 at 171 Speedway in Leesville, La., and May 23 on the P&W Sales Southern United Professional Racing at Lone Star Speedway in Kilgore, Texas. ... Comp Cams drivers visited East Texas after Tony Jackson Jr. of Lebanon, Mo., won a Friday event at Outlaw Motorsports Park near Muskogee, Okla.; the race was co-sanctioned with the MARS DIRTcar Series. ... Larry White (who races under the name Sloppy Hogg) won June 6's Late Model event at East Texas; he finished 18th in the Comp Cams event.
