Trent Ivey heads toward a $3,000 victory at Carolina Speedway.
What won the race: Second-starting Trent Ivey of Union, S.C., led all 30 laps, topping eighth-starting Jonathan Edwards of Clover, S.C., by 2.111 seconds for his first career Southeastern Late Model Sportsman Series victory in an attrition-filled event. Ivey earned $3,000.
Key notes: The feature took over 50 minutes to complete. ... Just six drivers completed the full 30-lap distance and only eight were running at the finish. ... The feature lineup was set straight from qualifying. ... The tour made only its second appearance in Gastonia and first since July 26, 2013.
On the move: Gary Puckett started 14th and finished fifth.
Winner's sponsors: The winning MasterSbilt Race Car is sponsored by Nichols Communication, Dirtwrap, Express Hydraulics, Ivey Construction, Ohlins and Upstate Medical Supply.
