Darrell Nelson heads for a $2,000 WISSOTA Challenge victory in Superior.
What won the race: Outside front-row starter Darrell Nelson of Hermantown, Minn., collected his first career OneMain WISSOTA Challenge Series victory over fifth-starting John Kaanta of Elk Mound, Wis. He earned $2,000 in a caution-plagued event.
Key notes: Superior hosted the series for the 10th time. ... Friday's first retiree, Aaron Lillo, leads Amsoil's weekly Late Model points. ... The Superior, Wis., track has another major event coming up Aug. 2 for the Twin Ports Twin 25s paying $1,500-to-win apiece.
