What won the race: Polesitter Justin Kay of Wheatland, Iowa, led all 35 laps Thursday at Hamilton County Speedway for a $3,000 Deery Brothers Summer Series victory over fellow front-row starter Curt Martin of Independence, Iowa. Kay built a straightaway lead by the sixth lap and had as many as three lapped cars between his machine and Martin's in racing to his 14th career tour victory, tying him for eighth on the all-time list with Mike Smith.
Key notes: Kay, the tour's only repeat winner in 2015, has a series-high five victories; his previous came July 8 at Independence. ... Hamilton County hosted the second of two midweek series events; Tyler Droste of Waterloo, Iowa, was the winner of Wednesday's stop at Quad City Speedway.
On the move: Jeremy Grady of Story City, Iowa, advanced from the 11th starting position to finish eighth.
