What won the race: Charging from the eighth starting position, Vic Hill of Morristown, Tenn., outdueled fourth-starting Mack McCarter of Gatlinburg, Tenn., for a $10,050 victory in the Schaeffer Oil Southern National Series season finale at Tazewell Speedway. Finishing seventh, Casey Roberts of Toccoa, Ga., clinched his first career Southern Nationals championship, surviving a late tangle with a slower car.

On the move: Hill advanced from the eighth starting spot for the victory.
Winner's sponsors: Hill's Longhorn Chassis has a Vic Hill Racing Engine and sponsorship from Landair Transport, Orthapaedic Institute of Western Kentucky, Pilot Travel Centers, American Racing Tire, Preferred Sandblasting & Patining and Fastlane.
