What won the race: Former series champ Delbert Smith of Wichita, Kan., collected his first National Championship Racing Association victory since 2007 on Saturday at 81 Speedway. Smith, the 2001 series champ, earned $1,000 for the victory while Dusty Leonard took second on the final lap for his best career series performance.
Key notes: Delbert Smith's last series victory came June 29, 2007, at Lincoln County Raceway in North Platte, Neb. ... He has 12 career series victories. ... Polesitter Darrick Klima ended up eighth after tangling with the lapped car of Richard Wilson while running second.
