What won the race: Winning his first career Sunoco American Late Model Series race, Frank Heckenast Jr. of Frankfort, Ill., earned $2,000 in Hartford Speedway's Jim Borden Memorial Blueberry Grand Prix.
Key notes: Heckenast has three victories on the season. His previous triumphs came in World of Outlaws Late Model Series action at Bubba Raceway Park on Feb. 14 and in the UMP DIRTcar Summernationals stop at Kankakee Speedway on June 11. ... Heckenast lowered the track record in qualifying. ... The race paid tribute to the former track owner, Jim Border, who was a blueberry farmer. ... In honor of the late Borden’s race car number (3), the driver in third place on the third lap of the ALMS main event received $500. ...
