Mark Douglas led all the way for a $4,000 Carolina Clash victory.
What won the race: Mark Douglas of Knoxville, Tenn., led all 40 laps Saturday night at Volunteer Speedway, earning $4,000 for his first victory on the Carolina Clash Super Late Model Series. He survived a restart with four laps remaining to secure the checkered flag over Donald McIntosh of Dawsonville, Ga., by 2.65 seconds and become the third first-time series winner at Volunteer this season (Chad Ogle and Vic Hill were the others).
Key notes: Eight drivers completed 40 laps. ... McIntosh ran second most of the way with Vic Hill taking a turn up front at the race's midpoint. ... Bryan Hendrix drew a lap-15 caution and Tommy Kerr was shuffled out of the top five on the restart. ... A lap-16 yellow appeared for Ellery Leake's spin. ... Joey Coulter and Ross White were involved in a lap-22 yellow. ... The final caution appeared on lap 36 when Hill and Mack McCarter tangled battling for third with McCarter spinning. ...
