Chad Thrash (1c) outdueled Bub McCool for a victory at Whynot.
What won the race: Hometown driver Chad Thrash edged Bub McCool by 4 feet at Whynot Motorsports Park to capture back-to-back victories on the Mississippi State Championship Challenge Series for the first time in his career. Thrash, who won eight days earlier at Columbus Speedway, earned $2,500 for his ninth career series triumph.
Key notes: Thrash joined McCool as the tour's only repeat winners in 2015. ... David Breazeale lowered the track record in time trials. ... The series made the third of four scheduled visits to Whynot. Neil Baggett won on March 28 and Brian Rickman won on June 20, ending Bub McCool's five-race winning streak on the tour. ... Whynot's final MSCCS event is slated for Sept. 19.
