Justin Kay (15k) makes a three-wide pass to take command
What won the race: Third-starting Justin Kay of Wheatland, Iowa, overtook outside front-row starter Dan Shelliam of Hazel Green, Wis., on lap 15 of 50, leading the rest of the way for his series-leading sixth IMCA Deery Brothers Summer Series victory of the season. He earned $3,000 and also posted a runner-up finish in the Hawkeye Dirt Tour modified portion of the program.
Key notes: Kay has 15 career Deery Brothers Summer Series victories. ... Runner-up Dan Shellian's finished matched the best of his career on the series; he also finished second June 9 at Jackson County Speedway. ... The race was slowed by two cautions, with the first yellow waving at the halfway mark. ... Fourth-running Brunson Behning spun to draw a lap-38 yellow after colliding with Joel Callahan. ... Cedar County hosted the series for the fourth time.
