What won the race: Gene Knaub of Dover, Pa., jumped out front on the opening lap and never looked back, dominating all 55 laps for a $6,055 victory in Bedford's 28th annual Labor Day Classic. Knaub led by as much as eight seconds during the race and ran multiple laps over a full second faster than any other car on the track.
Key notes: Knaub won Bedford's season-opening event April 17, but hadn't won a Super Late Model event at the track since. ... Second-running Jeff Rine slowed with a flat tire with 18 laps complete. ... Additional stoppages came on laps 37 and 48. ... Keith Barbara suffered a flat tire with one lap remaining. ... The track plans an another program on Labor Day, but Super Late Models are not on the card.
