Riley Hickman (R1) fends off runner-up Tanner English (96).
What won the race: Inheriting the lead after polesitter Josh Putnam's lap-15 flat tire, Riley Hickman led the rest of the 40-lap Sam Pugh Late Model Extravaganza at Duck River Raceway Park for a $3,500 payday.
Key notes: Hickman's victory, coupled with a $3,500 triumph Saturday at Thunderhill Speedway in Summertown, Tenn., gave him a $7,000 weekend. ... Hickman led at the outset with Putnam taking over, but Putnam's car caught a piece of angle sticking out of the berm and had a flat tire on lap 15. ... Hickman kept runner-up Tanner English in check the rest of the way while Putnam rallied back to finish fifth. ... Track prep was hampered when the sheep's foot roller locked up on the backstretch Sunday morning, digging a 40-foot long hole. ... Drivers Ronny Lee Hollingsworth, Dylan Ames and Tim Busha left the ground before the program began. ... The feature wrapped up after 1:30 a.m.
On the move: Daniel Miller started 11th and finished sixth; David Seibers started 20th and finished 10th.
Winner's sponsors: Hickman's Club 29 Race Car is sponsored by Hickman Manufacturing, MRC Racing Components, American Billet, Tucker Mobile Home Service, VP Racing Fuels, Allstar Graphics and RH Designs.
