What won the race: Turning his racing fortunes completely around, Adam Turner of Picton, Ont., came back from a blown engine in Friday night's Go Nuclear Late Model Challenge Series weekend opener at Mohawk International Raceway to capture the 40-lap Richard Tenace Memorial that capped the weekend on Sunday afternoon. He moved forward from the fourth starting to pocket the $1,500 top prize.
Key notes: Turner did not start Friday night's feature after losing his car's engine during qualifying. He had a replacement powerplant driven in from two hours away and installed it to end the weekend on a high note. ... Saturday's program was rained out and reset for Sunday morning. Gates opened at 8 a.m. with action beginning at 10:30 a.m. ... A previous April 25-26 Go Nuclear doubleheader at the track was canceled. ... Go Nuclear's richest event, the Great Crate Race, rained out last weekend at Brighton (Ontario) Speedway and was recently reset for Sept. 26.
Points chase: Lee Gill led Sandercock atop the standings entering the weekend.
