Jesse Stovall had company in victory lane once again at Wheatland.
What won the race: Jesse Stovall of Billings, Mo., completed the weekend sweep at Lucas Oil Speedway, notching his 10th victory of the season on the Lucas Oil Midwest Racing Association tour. Terry Phillips finished third behind Stovall and runner-up Chad Simpson, good enough to lock up the MLRA title.
Quotable: "This is the best (season) by far. Even though we didn't get a championship, winning all these races, having all the success we've had, I have a race team now," Stovall said. "(Crew chief Tony Rogers) came in about May and we started winning races. It was huge to me to have somebody to help. He's done a very good job."
Key notes: The MLRA Fall Nationals was the tour's final event. ... Stovall has 15 total MLRA victories; he won five of the last seven series events in 2015. ... MLRA ends the season Sunday with the postseason banquet at the Old Kinderhook Resort at the Lake of the Ozarks.
On the move: Provisional starter R.C Whitwell of Tucson, Arizona., advanced from his 23rd starting position to finish 12th.
Winner's sponsors: Stovall's Black Diamond Chassis has a Scott Bailey Racing Engine and is sponsored by Hoosier Racing Tire, Melvern Trust & Savings Bank, Midwest Sheet Metal, Rushin Towing and Swfafford's Service.
Points chase: Phillips notched his third series title. His previous crowns came in 1994 and 1996.
