Max Blair steers his Crate Late Model toward victory lane.
What won the race: Fouth-starting Max Blair of Centerville, Pa., raced to his ninth Sweeney Chevrolet RUSH Dirt Late Model Series victory of the season, besting polesitter Eric Wilson on a lap-nine restart for a $1,200 payday at McKean County Raceway.
Quotable: "(Eric Wilson) gets better and better every week. His time is coming and he's going to win a lot of races in his day," Blair said. "... It sure feels good to be back at McKean in front of all these awesome fans. I love racing up here and sure do miss coming up here every week. Every person here needs to personally thank Chris Zuver for putting this deal on. I know he sure worked his tail off. It might not have been optimal track conditions, but for what he had to work with he did one hell of a job."
Key notes: Blair won his fourth straight series event. ... Saturday's RUSH action was on the undercard for the $5,000-to-win Zimmer's United Late Model Series season finale, which Blair also won. ... Seventeen cars were running at the finish. ... RUSH competitors wrap up their season Oct. 23 at Lernerville Speedway.
On the move: Ward Schell of Warren, Pa., advanced from his 13th starting position to finish fifth.
Winner's sponsors: The winning Rocket Chassis is sponsored by C and J Dairy, D.L. Anderson, Genesis Racing Shocks, Hicktown Farms, Moody & Son Welding, Murphy's Logging, R&J Poultry, Specialty Products and VP Racing Fuels.
