Cory Hedgecock gets up to speed before his $3,500 victory.
What won the race: Cory Hedgecock of Loudon, Tenn., led all 51 laps Saturday at 411 Motor Speedway in the ninth annual Steel Head Nationals at 411 Motor Speedway. Hedgecock fought off early challenges from Chase King and a late charge from Hall of Famer John Gill of Mitchell, Ind.
Key notes: Hedgecock became the race's first two-time winner in nine runnings. ... The race was slowed by a single caution for a lap-seven spin for Bobby Mays. ... Among drivers failing to make the feature lineup: Mitchell Childress, Greg Estes, Scott Gardner, Drew Kennedy and Andy Ogle.
