Matt Lux takes the checkers in the $3,000 Steel City Stampede.
What won the race: Inaugural Steel City Stampede winner Matt Lux of Franklin, Pa., captured the event again at Lernerville Speedway, earning $3,000. Jared Miley, who fell from third to eighth after a mid-race scuffle, rallied back to finish second while Russ King, who led laps 14-19, was among retiring drivers after trouble in traffic.
Key notes: Lux drove to his second victory of the season for Jim Detman; he also won Aug. 21. ... Lux replaced Brian Swartzlander in Detman's car at mid-season. ... Late Model prelims were held Friday evening with the main event reset for Sunday afternoon after rain postponed Saturday's action. ... Peoples Natural Gas sponsored the event. ... The event drew more 230 cars, including 26 Super Later Models and 54 Crate Late Models. ... RUSH-sanctioned Crates are chasing a $2,000-to-win purse.
