What won the race: Polesitter Chris Ferguson of Mount Holly, N.C., outdueled Casey Roberts of Toccoa, Ga., to score his second consecutive Jack Starrette Memorial victory at Modoc Raceway. He earned a $6,022 payday in the Ultimate Super Late Model Series-sanctioned event.

The race was one of five events scheduled at the Brian Stewart-promoted oval; track owners Jim and Ann Cushman temporarily scrapped plans to open the track in 2016, but it will continue with a special-event schedule. ... Sponsorship from Big Dawn Tree and Stump Removal and BCI Asphalt added $1,000 to the winner's purse ... Ferguson was the winner of the $500 dash for cash.
On the move: Brandon Overton of Appling, Ga., charged from the ninth starting position to run third. Ross Bailes of Clover, S.C., started 10th and finished fourth.
Winner's sponsors: Ferguson's family-owned Longhorn Chassis is powered by a Clements Race Engine and carries sponsorship from Champion Spark Plugs, RPM Trailer Sales, Live Oak Family Dentistry, Langley Collision Center, Carver and Sons Roofing, On Site Solutions and Keith's Handyman Service.
