Kent Robinson takes the checkers for his Brownstown victory.
What won the race: Polesitter Kent Robinson of Bloomington, Ind., regained the lead from Greg Johnson of Bedford, Ind., on lap 29 of the 30-lap feature event. Robinson took the checkers ahead of Devin Gilpin of Columbus, Ind., and Johnson for the $3,000 victory at Brownstown Speedway, his first Late Model victory since August 2014.
Quotable: "It turned out great. This is the best I've seen Brownstown in a long time," Robinson said. "I've been running here a lot, but never had a lot of success, so it's nice to finally get a win here."
Key notes: Robinson's previous Late Model feature victory came Aug. 31, 2014, in Sunoco American Late Model Series action at Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio. ... The feature event saw seven lead changes. ... Greg Johnson fell from first to third on the final lap. ... Jason Jameson lowered the track record in time trials with a 13.002. ... The race marked the first Super Late Model event of the season at Brownstown, which twice had its Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Indiana Icebreaker scrubbed because of poor weather. ...
