What won the race: Ryan VanderVeen of Six Lakes, Mich., overtook Rich Neiser of Fruitport, Mich., with six laps remaining Friday at Winston Speedway to capture the Allstar Performance Player Hater 35. VanderVeen pocketed $1,500 in the unsanctioned season opener at Winston.
Key notes: VanderVeen won his second straight start; he captured Crystal Motor Speedway's season opener seven days earlier. ...
