What won the race: Making his first-ever start at the high-banked quarter-mile oval, third-starting Rusty Ballenger of Seymour, Tenn., scored a $2,500 United Crate Racing Alliance victory at Thunderhill Raceway. Ballenger took the checkers ahead of outside front-row starter Eric Hickerson.
Key notes: Forrest Trent started on the pole and led early, but he got into the frontstretch wall to bring out the race's lone caution; he finished 16th in the 16-car field.
On the move: Ashley Newman of Ripley, Tenn., started 11th and finished sixth.
