Bub McCool zips out of the corner at Greenville Speedway.
What won the race: Bub McCool of Vicksburg, Miss., grabbed the early lead from his fourth starting spot and held off a late challenge from Kyle Beard for a $2,000 victory Friday at Greenville Speedway. McCool earned his 25th career Mississippi State Championship Challenge Series victory and fifth on the Comp Cams Super Dirt Series. Polesitter Austin Rettig finished third.
Key notes: McCool won a co-sanctioned race last May at Greenville. ... Doug Showah and Chris Brown spun on lap 22. ... Timothy Culp and Brian Rickman tangled in turn one early. ...
