Doug Drown captured his fourth victory in six 2016 starts.
What won the race: Leading 29 of 30 laps, polesitter Doug Drown of Wooster, Ohio, bested fourth-starting Matt Irey for a $2,000 Sunoco American Late Model series victory at Attica Raceway Park. Drown won by 2.428 seconds.
Quotable: “The guys worked their butts off. We broke a header in hot laps. We welded one up," Drown said. "Thanks to Byron Reed and Mike Bores for letting us borrow their welder. My son brought me another one from the house. ... it’s been an adventure in the pits for us. But the car was just phenomenal.”
Key notes: Doug Drown earned his fourth career ALMS victory, all of which have come at Attica. ... He previously won at the track during an April 15 ALMS stop and was also a weekly winner on May 13. ... Fourteen of the feature's 20 starters finished on the lead lap. ...
