What won the race: Joseph Brown of Cataula, Ga., led all 40 laps Sunday night at Cochran Speedway for his first career Southern Thunder Late Model Series victory. He's the sixth winner in six series races in 2016.
Quotable: "This is surreal," Brown said in victory lane. "We built this car and we're on a low-budget type deal, and for us to win a race like this is pretty sweet."
Key notes: Brown, coming off a runner-up finish in the previous night's Southern Thunder event at East Alabama, took the checkers 2.319 seconds ahead of runner-up Ben Faircloth. ... Seven drivers completed 40 laps.
On the move: J.R. Moseley of Columbus, Ga., came from the fourth row to finish third.
Winner's sponsors: Brown's Scorpion Race Car is sponsored by Brown Heating & Air, Lewis Auto Sales, RacePix, and Five Star Hyundai.
Points chase: Cole Exum led series points heading into Memorial Day weekend.
